After his Hartford, CT show last night (he brought out 50 cent!), Lil Wayne made an appearance on ESPN’s Sports Center and First Take this morning. While on First Take he announced the release date for what he says will be his last album on October 28th. Tha Carter V will of course include features from both Nicki Minaj and Drake. While also on First Take, he also revealed the cover art for the album which is a picture of him and his mother. Lil Wayne is known to use childhood photos of himself for his album covers and this one came as a surpise to his mother as he states that he “…know[s] personally she doesn’t like that picture of herself.”
The album was originally slated for an August/September release date with it getting pushed back numerous times. And that’s okay, he should take his time making sure his last album is, hopefully, a classic.
Lil Wayne is still currently on tour with Drake on their Lil Wayne v. Drake tour. Their next stop will be in Cincinatti, OH Friday, August 15th.
