It has been over 10 years since 5-time Grammy winning super singing group, TLC has given us some new music. No worries! The two-some group, TBoz and Chilli, are currently working on what will be their last album and are giving their extremely loyal fans the opportunity to be part of the process by crowd funding it on Kickstarter. They also promise to keep the sound true to TLC.
According to a press release:
“This is about our fans getting involved,” says TLC member Chilli, who began performing with TBoz
and Left Eye in 1991 before the group went on to sell over 65 million albums. “Our motivation
to do our best work has always been our fans. To have them involved in the whole process this
time is very exciting—very outside-the-box.”
With pledge levels starting at $5, TLC fans around the world have the opportunity to play a direct
role in writing the final chapter of an amazing musical story—a story that includes four multiplatinum
albums, five Grammys, and ten Billboard top-10 singles including the #1 hits
“Waterfalls”, “Creep”, “No Scrubs”, and “Unpretty”.
All backers will receive a Kickstarter-exclusive TLC digital track, and have the ability to
communicate directly with the group through Kickstarter messaging channels as the album is
recorded. Rewards for higher pledge levels include VIP concert tickets, a custom voicemail
greeting recorded by T-Boz and Chilli, a spot at an in-person fitness class taught by Chilli, and
authentic wardrobe pieces worn by TLC in their classic videos.
The campaign kicks off today, January 19th and tomorrow, January 20th, the group will appear on Good Morning America to announce their upcoming tour. Get your coins together and head over to Kickstarter to help fund their final album!
