With a voices that leaps out of speakers and buries deep in your unconscious, 18-year-old California rapper 24kGoldn is a sure bet for success. Piling up boasts and dismissing lames at a rapid rate, Goldn shares “Time For That!“, his new single. With hypnotic synth and booming bass courtesy of producer Fly Melodies, “Time For That!” earns the exclamation point in its title, as Goldn attacks the track with melodic ferocity: “Cash out, cash out!/Call ’em California keys/I got mustard in my bag, bitch I know you smell this cheese.” Released on Goldn’s SoundCloud, “Time For That!” is another exuberant and absurdly confident banger from Goldn, following “Valentino,” his buzzing new single, and arriving just in time for his opening performance for Blueface at The Nightingale in Los Angeles this evening.
Last week, Goldn announced the Boutique EP, his upcoming debut project. Executive produced by platinum producer D.A. Doman, the man behind Top 10 Billboard hits like Tyga’s “Taste” and Kodak Black’s “ZEZE,” Boutique showcases Goldn’s prodigious hookcraft, supplemented by his breathless high-register delivery and his sly punchlines. With each song titled after one of the USC freshman’s favorite designer brands, Boutique finds the young rapper experimenting with styles, finding his voice and separating from the pack. Featuring “Valentino,” which has over 1 million views on its outrageously creative video, Boutique EP arrives later this year via RECORDS LLC.
