Where were you when you were 15 years-old? Odds are you were not fostering a successful career in hip-hop like Bay Area 15-year-old Suigeneris.
Today, Suigeneris announces Suinami, his next project, with appearances from
To accompany the announcement of the mixtape, Suie shares “Purple Drip,” his new video single. A chiming and woozy new banger, “Purple Drip” showcases Suie’s ability to stretch his rhyming cadence into a maddeningly catchy hook. A 1-minute, 43-second whirlwind of straight flexing, “Purple Drip” finds Suie shining in VVS diamonds, but also opening up for a moment of regret: “I did so much shit that I really cannot stand for.” In the video, the rap prodigy radiates electricity as he mobs in a neon-lit warehouse.
Introduced to his hip-hop by his brothers, who are pursuing musical careers of their own, Suigeneris experienced his first taste of success at the young age of 13, when his video “Pull Up” caught fire in the Bay Area to the tune of 1.6 million YouTube views.
Since then, Suie’s career trended ever upward. “Pull Up” caught the ear of Landon Cube, who brought Suie on as an opening act for his tour. Through Cube, Suie met Lil Skies, who appreciated Suie’s melodic mastery enough to collaborate with him on “Now” (6 million Spotify streams, 3.3 million YT views).
In the summer of 2018, Suigeneris appeared on Complex’s Good Looking Out series, earning a fan in YG.
