Capitalizing on the considerable momentum driven by her recent CRY 4 HELP EP, Kari Faux announces the “HELP WANTED Tour,” commencing in May. Spanning 12 headlining dates, the “HELP WANTED Tour” includes shows in the East Coast, Midwest, South, the West, and Toronto, Canada.Kari honed her live show at SXSW, where she performed several showcases, including a buzzworthy set at The FADER Fort. Tickets for the Tour go on sale at 10am on Friday March 29th, with more dates to be announced in the coming weeks. Returning to the fold after a two-year absence from the music industry, Kari returned with the powerful five-track EP CRY 4 HELP in early March. Though the subject matter is heavy, the music is rich and engrossing, as Kari alternates her soft singing voice with plainspoken rhymes, fully inhabiting each instrumental and walking the line between rap and R&B. Whether she’s singing or rapping, Kari probes the depths of her conscious and subconscious with musicality and wit. The project reaches an emotional climax with the closing track “Latch Key,” a devastating account of Kari’s recent and distant history, and features the buzzing single “Leave Me Alone,” which found itself on Spotify’s “Mellow Bars” and “Black Girl Magic” playlists. EP highlight “Medicated” is currently featured on Spotify’s influential “POLLEN” playlist, alongside artists like Tame Impala, Jamila Woods, and Grimes. |
